Tubbataha

Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located at the heart of the Coral Triangle, a “wetland of International importance” renowned for having unparalleled biodiversity in terms of coral species. Nominated as one of the 7 New Wonders of the World, Tubbataha is most known for dramatic reefscapes, massive walls and drop-offs, amazingly abundant marine life, and excellent visibility.

Considered as the Philippines top diving destination, Tubbataha also ranks as one of the World’s best.

Its stature as a marine protected area and bird sanctuary has helped keep its incredible amount of biodiversity alive and intact. It is home to no less than 600 species of fish, 372 species of corals (or about half of all the coral species in the world), 11 species of sharks, 13 species of dolphins and whales, 100 species of birds, and is also a nesting place for the endangered Hawksbill and Green Sea Turtles.

Rough seas make Tubbataha impossible to reach most of the year; it is Mother Nature’s way of protecting its beauty and maintaining its pristine underwater condition.

Calm waters during the summer months of March to June, grant divers a limited window to experience this world-class diving destination.

There is also virtually no land in sight within the 97,030 hectare marine protected area, except for the two coral atolls serving as nesting sites for migratory birds and marine turtles, making liveaboard the only option for diving in Tubbataha.

Due to the remoteness of the place and the limited seasonal factor, dive slots to Tubbataha sell out very fast and is advisable to book as early as possible to secure a space. Early bird bookings (bookings fully paid 6 months or more prior to scheduled trip) will be rewarded with FREE UNLIMITED NITROX.
