We're celebrating 50 years of Earth Day this April 22, 2020. While we may not be able to embrace the gifts nature has made available to us at this moment, we're definitely able to contribute to a better environment in one way or another, while being indoors. It's March 3, World Wildlife Day. While we take the opportunity to celebrate the biodiversity of life on this planet in its beautiful and varied forms, we must not forget to raise awareness for the vulnerable and threatened species.
The dugongs, currently in vulnerable status, are threatened by loss of sea grass habitat, which does not allow them to breed normally. They are often victims of bycatch in shallow waters and end up drowning.
We can all play a part. Let's all be leaders of change we want to see. Keep an eye out for what we have in store for you, onboard M/V Big Sky Explorer!
